![]() ![]() ![]() Particularly thrill-seeking players may be able to build an enclosure while they are being chased by a Lox, but this is extremely difficult to accomplish and therefore not recommended. Populated Fuling Villages can be seen spread across the plains, built from Deer hide and Bone. It is home to many different kinds of rock formations, some appearing to be natural (such as enormous destructible stone monoliths), and some constructed by the native Fulings. The second option is effective, but it is likely players will get rammed and possibly killed in the process. The Plains is a wide open biome with rolling hills and sparse trees. The first option is safer, but it will take longer for the Lox to take the bait, and if the Lox sees the player character, it may still try to attack. They can place barley and cloudberries inside the enclosure and stand nearby waiting, or they can use themselves as live bait and compel any aggressive Lox they find to chase them into the enclosure. ![]() To lure a Lox into the pen, players can do one of two things. These two foods can help lure and tame a Lox. Finally, players should take some time to harvest barley and forage for cloudberries. Once you have at least two Lox in your pen, they’ll be able to breed and you can harvest as many Lox Pelts and meat as you desire.Players will also want to make sure they have a strong endgame shield like the Serpent Scale Shield, especially if they use themselves as bait to lure the Lox into the enclosure. Like all of the other taming processes, feed the food to the Lox and eventually, they’ll become domesticated and will no longer be hostile towards you. Either of these food items will allow you to tame Lox over time, so make sure to have a ton on hand or know where to find some. Once you have one or two Lox inside of your stone walls, you’ll need to find either barley or cloudberries. Each piece of flax takes 30 seconds to convert into Linen thread. It must be placed within the radius of the Artisan table, but does not require it to function after placement. You can do this relatively easily as long as you don’t get too close to the Lox. The Spinning wheel becomes available after the player has killed Moder to obtain the materials for an Artisan table. They’re huge creatures, so the more space from each wall’s end the better. When attempting to capture Lox inside of an area, you’ll need to make sure the stone walls you place give enough space for the Lox to roam. Once you have Iron, you’ll unlock the Stone Cutter bench and thus, stone buildings. This crafting recipe is unlocked by defeating Valheim’s second boss, The Elder, and looting Iron in the Swamp. If you want to tame a herd of Lox, you’ll need stone walls. ![]() The hulking reptiles will obliterate any wood structure in front of them, so wood fences are no good. The other two tamable creatures in Valheim, Boars and Wolves, are much easier to domesticate simply because you can trap them inside of a fence. Lox can only be kept in a pen made of stone, not wood. However, despite their somewhat hostile nature, they can be tamed under the right circumstances.
